- My brother & I live in two different states but would like to be able to
- play network games such as Doom2 together. However paying phone charges
- to play modem Doom would be ridicules since these games can last hours.
-
- Unfortunetely calling the Seattle area from the San Francisco Bay Area for
- 2-3 hours at a time doesn't appeal to well to my budget, so I am
- wondering if anybody has heard of a program that somebody can run on
- their Unix shell accounts along with some software on their local PC
- which would simulate some sort of network connection (or modem...) that
- would in essence allow us to play a modem/Network Doom2 over our Internet
- accounts?
-
- I have heard of such a program out there, but I heard of this several
- years ago, and I cannot remember where I can get such a thing.
-
- We both have a stanard text shell account with 14.4k modems. I realise
- that if this program works/exists, it would probably be slower than a
- regular modem connection but we can live with it.
-
- If anybody has heard of something like this, please reply to this (e-mail
- if possible because this newsgroup has a lot of traffic and I am not a
- regular reader).
-
- Thank you in advance!!!
